Tijdens de lockdown kan TheArtCouch niet op atelierbezoeken gaan, daarom vroegen we kunstenaars om een stukje van hun atelier naar ons te brengen, in de vorm van een filmpje. Vandaag selecteerden we de inzending van Elfie Kristiana, die er volgende boodschap aan toevoegde: Corona,  Ik besef nog sterker hoe graag en hoeveel ik op mezelf wil zijn. Ik noemde mezelf asociaal, maar dat ben ik niet, ik kan heel sociaal zijn, maar ben graag veel op mezelf, ideaal in deze coronatijd. Mijn BEZINNING  Alles draait rond afstand en “adem”.

How to Build Your Own Reflectors for Tabletop Photography

The use of reflectors in photography is just a way of taking advantage of the existent light, and bounce it to different places in your image. This can be done with virtually any surface that reflects light, like a wall, a mirror, cardboard, styrofoam, aluminum foil, etc. Dedicated photography reflectors come in many different colors, shapes and sizes. Silver, gold, white, and sometimes mixes of these three colors commonly know as zebra reflectors are the most common colors. There are also 5-in-1 reflectors that include a black surface to absorb light, and a translucent surface to soften light.

Maar welke instelling gebruik je nu best op je Nikon, Canon, Sony, … ? Wij maken je vertrouwd met de knopjes, vertellen waarvoor ze dienen en leren je je camera instellen.

In dit artikel nemen we de essentiële instellingen die je op bijna elke reflex- of systeemcamera vindt met je door. Hoe ze precies ingesteld worden, verschilt van toestel tot toestel. Wat bij de ene camera met een knopje gaat, werkt op een andere via het cameramenu. Door de verschillen tussen merken en modellen kunnen we hier niet elke camera in detail bespreken. How many times have you been told…

– that your art isn’t “necessary”,

– that it’s just a hobby and you should treat it like one,

– that you’re “a little bit off”,

– that you should be more “normal”,

– that you should consider getting a real job?

I don’t know about you, but I’ve grown tired of hearing stuff like that. If you’re an artist, you’re the way you are because you were BORN that way. “Artist” isn’t a job. It’s not something you learn in a school. It’s not something you become. It’s not what you do. It’s a singular way of being in the world. It’s WHO YOU ARE.

Purported details leak of a prototype 80MP Canon EOS R – is this the high-resolution Canon EOS RS?

There’s always more gossip about the Canon EOS R than your average professional football player, and the latest gossip is juicier than usual: specs have been leaked of a purported prototype of a high-res version of the camera, which may materialize as the Canon EOS RS. 

The new camera will reportedly feature an 80MP sensor, dual SD card, a larger LCD screen, a new joystick design and potentially a tilting electronic viewfinder, among other additions.
